Location: We are seeking a Evening Warehouse Supervisor for the Hollywood Bowl!

WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

Section 1: Identifying Information

Position Title: Warehouse Supervisor Job Group: Operations

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Section 2: Position Purpose

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and executing warehouse operations and

procedures in order to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency so that all product, supply and

equipment needs are met throughout the venue.

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and/or Director of Operations, this individual will support

Sodexo Live!’s goal to be #1 in Event Hospitality through advanced planning and preparation for games or events based on forecasted attendance, and by assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities to warehouse staff. A top priority will be to ensure that the highest levels of safety, organization and sanitation are maintained throughout all warehousing and storage areas.

Section 3: Responsibilities, Supporting Actions and End-Results

Major Responsibility: Support warehouse operations and provide supervision to warehouse staff.

Supporting Actions:

  • Coordinate all daily warehousing activities with Warehouse Manager and/or Purchasing Manager.
  • Utilize established storage systems, policies and procedures to ensure maximum use and efficiency

of space within unit warehouse.

  • Assist with organization and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Utilize inventory control systems, both manual and automated.
  • Assist with monthly inventories for all product and supplies; Report discrepancies immediately.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are implemented for requisitions, cataloging, inventory control, bulk

storage and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies and assist in maintaining supply system.

  • Continuously monitor and ensure proper stock date rotation for all consumable product.
  • Distribute product, supplies and equipment to various departments, as needed.
  • Supervise warehouse and clerical data entry staff; Ensure accuracy in transmitting documentation to the corporate office.
  • Continually observe surroundings and monitor storage areas to ensure they are properly attended to; Immediately alert Security of any suspicious activity.
  • Maintain positive, on-going communication with Specialty Retail Manager, Hospitality Managers, Culinary Managers and other department heads.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Major Responsibility: Ensure that all Sodexo Live! standards for quality, sanitation and safety are maintained.

Supporting Actions:

  • Routinely inspect areas of assigned responsibility and report all substandard safety conditions

immediately to manager.

  • Ensure that warehouse staff have met all Sodexo Live! training requirements and certifications related

to safety, food handling, sanitation, operation of equipment.

  • Ensure that electric vehicles (carts) and other transport equipment is operated properly by warehouse staff.
  • Monitor quality of products upon receipt and ensure compliance with established standards for sanitation.
  • Ensure that all food products are stored, held and transported under proper conditions as per sanitation standards.

  • Apply consistent focus on the internal customer by paying close attention to detail in the performance of all tasks.
  • Review staff’s work for accuracy, quantity, timeliness, adherence to prescribed procedures and prepare reports of subordinates’ productivity.
  • Communicate with management, Staff, internal departments and external agencies, as necessary.
  • Assist fellow employees in other departments; Serve as an information resource for the unit and provide education on warehousing processes as needed.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Confer with Warehouse Manager regarding problem areas; Make recommendations for increasing efficiency and for changing procedures.
  • Act as a positive role model for new department employees.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Section 5: Dimensions

The Warehouse Supervisor will perform supervisory and operations duties within retail outlets within a given business unit. Assigned work areas may vary. They will have minimal latitude for independent decision making. Receives a significant level of supervision with instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new lines of work or special assignments.

Section 6: Job Qualifications/Skills

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
  • Technology aptitude for working with automated inventory system.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours in length and have the ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other employees. Must be able to work in extremes of cold to heat.

Must be able to meet the following requirements with reasonable accommodation:

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and carry approximately 20 feet.
  • Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (1⁄4) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day.

  • Employee must be able to perform repetitive motions.

  • Push and Pull equipment such as: merchandise racks, speed racks, flat beds, and wire carts the distance of up to .4 miles.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to multitask in an office or operations setting.
  • Ability to operate telephone and to talk and/or hear in a retail store location setting (noise level is moderate).
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Ability to, grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach and lift overhead.
  • Ability to operate a desktop computer or register terminal.
