EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above including one year of experience in shipping, receiving and delivery work.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver's license and acquisition of forklift certification within first five months of employment. Must be, and remain, insurable under the District's vehicle driver's insurance policy at the standard rate.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, perform physical and clerical duties involved in filling stock requisitions and in collecting, processing and delivering District mail.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Warehouse Worker incumbents perform general duties in filling stock requisitions and assist with collecting, processing and delivering District and U.S. mail. Warehouse Worker incumbents are assigned limited accountability for warehouse functions such as receiving, inspecting, packing, issuing, storing and delivering warehouse stock and supplies, complete necessary documentation and maintain routine records.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Pack, unpack, load, receive and store books and supplies; shelve, arrange and label stock and District records. E
- Inspect orders, invoices and requisitions; fill stock requisition orders. E
- Assist in periodic physical inventory and in maintaining perpetual inventories. E
- Collect, sort, process and meter District and U.S. mail. E
- Make daily mail and money deliveries in District truck to schools and other sites within the District. E
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and dollies in loading and unloading vehicles, moving materials and storing items. E
- Observe safety and health regulations. E
- Maintain routine records related to warehouse stock and mail deliveries. E
- Perform related duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENT:
Warehouse and outdoor environment; subject to driving a vehicle to conduct work, and regular exposure to fumes, dust and odors.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling items weighing up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds to load and unload trucks; bending at the waist; reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; standing for extended periods of time; walking; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and related equipment and vehicles; hearing and speaking to exchange information; and seeing to read purchase orders and verify accuracy.
HAZARDS:
Driving a vehicle during adverse weather conditions.
